Czech MR revenues ‘to grow in 2009'

Research association expects industry to weather crisis

CZECH REPUBLIC-- Research association Simar is predicting that Czech market research revenue will grow this year despite the financial crisis, reports the Prague Daily Monitor.

The organisation said revenue for its member agencies grew by an estimated 3-7% in 2008, to Kc2.3bn-2.45bn (£76.1m-81.1m).

Most agencies were expecting their revenue to stay the same or grow in 2008, with only a few expecting it to fall. Executive director Stanislav Zahradnicek said reliable information is especially useful to companies during difficult times.

The country's biggest agency is TNS AISA, which recorded Kc340-360m (£11.3m-11.9m) revenue in 2008.
