Chime says growth continues amid tough conditions

Research and PR group reports good overall performance for 2008

UK-- Research agency owner Chime Communications has said it performed “well” in 2008 and is set to report growth in profit, earnings per share and dividend per share.

In a trading update, the group said: “The outlook for 2009 is uncertain but the group is well positioned to increase market share”.

Today's statement does not include specific details on Chime's research and engagement division, which recorded a “disappointing” performance in the first three quarters of 2008, despite a strong showing from the group's advertising and PR businesses.

Earlier this month Paul Tredwell took over as CEO of the research division – which includes deliberative specialist Opinion Leader, fieldwork agency Facts International, ethnographic specialist Naked Eye and luxury goods researcher Ledbury – with a view to raising its profile and integrating its offer.
