Carat appoints Hess to top research role

Former OMD director to lead marketing science and customer insight

US-- Aegis-owned media agency Carat has appointed Mike Hess as executive vice president of research, marketing science and consumer insights.

Hess was previously worldwide director of research and insights at Omnicom agency OMD, but left the firm this week to take the post at Carat.

He will be responsible for overseeing Carat's research, analytics and insight efforts and report to Aegis US president Martin Cass when he moves into the role on 9 February. Reporting directly to Hess will be senior vice presidents Theresa La Montagne and Michelle Lynn.

Cass called the appointment a “great coup”. The role had been vacant for four years following the departure of Joanne Burke.
