Cable & Co plans Quantum leap into MR

Looks to acquire fieldwork firm Quantum Research Services

US-- Shell corporation Cable & Co has revealed plans to purchase data collection firm Quantum Research Services, which trades as Aspen Media & Market Research.

The Colorado-based fieldwork agency had sales of $5.4m for the year ending 30 June, with adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) of $405,000.

Cable wants to use the acquisition as the starting point for its transformation into a market research industry player.

It announced plans back in July to spin off its dental care products subsidiary LifeHealthCare as a separate public entity, and rename itself Marketing & Research Corp.

President Gary Stein said at the time: “The restructure of the company will enable it to negotiate finance and acquire certain operating companies in the marketing and research sector which will establish a solid foundation for the company to achieve growth and maximise profitability.”

Cable hopes to complete the acquisition of Quantum by early next year.
