BrainJuicer enters Germany and Canada

Agency extends international reach and gets into the online communities game

UK-- BrainJuicer is launching an online community service and expanding into Germany and Canada, as it celebrates passing the £9m revenue mark in 2008.

In a trading statement the agency said its new research community service, JuicyBrains, has already been successfully piloted with three large multinational clients.

It also announced the opening of a German office, which it says is a response to demand from multinational clients. The office, in Hamburg, will be headed by Jonathan Gable as managing director.

In Canada the firm has agreed a phased acquisition of HighLevel Research, along the same lines as the deal it signed last summer with Australia's Slater Marketing Group.

Under the agreement, HighLevel is licensed sell BrainJuicer's products in Canada, and will be acquired for a total consideration of C$900,000 (£491,000) between now and 2013, provided certain financial targets are met. The firm is run by Bill Ratcliffe, who previously managed Millward Brown Canada.

The new deals mean BrainJuicer now has a presence in seven countries.

Chief financial officer James Geddes told Research the firm's strategy is to build its own teams in the largest markets, while working with existing local teams in others, with a view to them becoming part of BrainJuicer at a later date.

The firm achieved more than 40% organic growth last year, according to its statement.
