Bond to take CEO reigns at Research International UK

Julian Bond (pictured) appointed new UK chief executive - six months after Simon Lidington's sudden departure

Research International has named Julian Bond as its new UK chief executive – nearly six months after the sudden departure of previous CEO Simon Lidington.

Bond will take up the post tomorrow. He is currently global managing director of RI's marketing science group, which specialises in quantitative research.

Worldwide CEO Mark Cranmer said Bond had been “instrumental in driving Research International's new thinking and techniques over the past 20 years”.

He is also notable for developing MicroTest, RI's simulated test market model.

Tomorrow also sees the departure of RI UK's client services director Nicky Buss. The former Red Cell planner was brought in by Lidington in April last year as part of a restructure of the agency's research teams, which are now organised around key clients rather than sectors.

Buss is joining ITV as advertiser development director, and has been replaced at RI by David Walker.
