$7m investment for TheInfoPro

Edison Venture Fund backs IT market research agency

US-- TheInfoPro, an IT market research agency launched by former Gartner executive Ken Male, has landed a $7.25m investment from Edison Venture Fund to expand sales, marketing and development.

Male set up the firm in 2002 following stints at Gartner and rival research agencies Giga and Jupiter Research (both now owned by Forrester) and IT provider EMC.

Edison has become the sole institutional investor in the business. It has invested in SmartAnalyst, which provides customised research and analytics to clients in the life sciences, fast-moving consumer goods, financial and marketing services industries.

SmartAnalyst CEO Manu Bammi has joined TheInfoPro board, alongside Edison principal Ryan Ziegler and Tom Dent, former CEO of QSS.
