US— Marketing analytics agency MarketShare has appointed two new senior executives to bolster its presence in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region and Japan.

Jeanette Carlsson has been named EVP and managing director for EMEA while Shigeyuki Tomomatsu has been appointed EVP and managing director for Japan.

Carlsson has spent the last 10 years at IBM where she was business strategy and new media leader for the technology giant’s global business services and communications sector.

Tomomatsu, meanwhile, moves to MarketShare following a spell as vice president of marketing at Yahoo in Japan where he led an 80-strong team and was responsible for all marketing activities. He previously served as director of strategic planning and brand communication at GE Consumer Finance and has had spells with Coca-Cola Japan, Johnson & Johnson and Young & Rubicam.

MarketShare COO Ivan Markman said: “As our global demand increases so does our need for seasoned marketing and technology executives to lead the adoption of our analytics and software. Jeanette Carlsson and Shigeyuki Tomomatsu are huge talents who will ensure our clients in EMEA and Japan have the business intelligence they require to make the most effective marketing resource allocation decisions on an ongoing basis.”
