Speaking at Research Conferences

The Research Conference team is constantly on the lookout for compelling and expert speakers for a wide range of events. Interested in taking part? In this section you’ll find everything you need to make your case. This is where you’ll find details on the selection process, the speaker requirements and submission guidelines.

Selection process

Research Conferences, organised in association with MRS, take place throughout the year and offer a series of leading-edge one-day conferences, seminars, workshops and The Annual Conference in March. Our programmes are thoroughly researched with key figures and active stakeholders from the market research industry, ensuring that our agendas explore and address only the most topical issues. As a result of this process leaders in their field will be invited as Conference Chairs, Speakers or Panellists.

Speaker requirements

We need a speaker to:

  • Allocate time for a speaker meeting at least 15 days before the conference with the Conference Chair and fellow speakers.
  • Provide a professional quality presentation on the agreed topic.
  • Provide a presentation to us in electronic form for a quality and A/V check.
  • Respect the time allocated for your presentation.

How to submit a proposal

  • Visit the specific conference website and review the information on the conference and the topics to be covered.
  • Email a short proposal relevant to the topics described to Christopher.bancroft@mrs.org.uk- Please include a 100-200 word synopsis, speaker biography, and speaker contact information.
  • We do not accept sales pitches or marketing presentations. Please only forward proposals submitted by the actual speaker/presenter.
  • If you are proposing or helping to coordinate a speaker’s participation, make sure you provide all the relevant contact information.
  • When submitting a proposal, please bear in mind that most presentations will be part of a conference session covering the same theme. Times for presentations can range from 5 to 45 minutes, but the vast majority are 15 or 20 minutes followed by 5 to 10 minutes of Q&A.
  • We always appreciate the time you’ve taken to submit your proposal. We will always contact you to let you know whether or not you’ve been successful.

We always receive many more excellent proposals than we can fit into our programme. Please do not be discouraged if you are not selected. We host multiple events, and may be able to incorporate your presentation into another conference.
